A homage to a racing driver that is still present these days, let’s take a look at the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport “Grand Prix” a hypersports car inspired by and dedicated to one of the most recognized drivers of the early era, Louis Chiron.
Louis Chiron, a Monegasque born in 1899 who had an interest in the automotive world from an early age, who started driving from a very young age and joined the Grand Prix circuit just after the First World War. Jean Bugatti, son of Ettore Bugatti, witnessed how Chiron established himself as one of the greatest drivers of the 20th century and his affinity for racing Bugatti cars, such as the French Grand Prix at Montlhéry where he won driving a Type 51 with an iconic number 32 on the sides. This and many more achievements caused the admiration of the brand towards him, so much so that his surname would become the eponym for the Bugatti Chiron and was consolidated 90 years later with this tribute.
The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport “Grand Prix” is the perfect tribute to Chiron’s career and what his achievements represent for the brand; The division in charge of this special request is the customization program of the brand “Sur Mesure”, specialized in requests as unique as they are exclusive, and with enormous expertise when it comes to painting bodywork, handmade interiors and individualized embroidery. This project could not fall into better hands, as we can see, the result is impressive.
The Chiron Pur Sport “Grand Prix” is not enough with that, with being a Chiron Pur Sport, the details that we can find both in the exterior and in the interior is what makes this hypercar as unique as it alone. The first thing we notice are the two new exterior colors, specially created for this car paying homage to the racing Bugatti of the 20th century, one of them, a very subdued and solid blue accompanied by a deep red along the corridors of the car. in which we should note that hand-painted “EB” pattern that required a completely new painting process in the personalization program.
On the sides, the greatest homage to Louis Chiron, two brilliant “32” numbers hand-painted in glossy black, a number that we find embroidered on the headrests of the seats inside the cabin and that is replicated with a special inlay on the central console in black anodized aluminum, with a silver hand-painted inscription. The motifs extend throughout the cabin, from the door sills to the entrance lights that denote very subtle branding but underscore the exclusivity of this model.
The car was presented in what is known as “the most exclusive car event in the world” Top Marques Monaco, as one of the main presentations of the event thanks to the relationship that exists between the principality, the brand and the racer to whom they do homage. Certainly a hypercar worthy of any collection and the perfect tribute to Bugatti’s racing lineage.
